Hi! We are Liz and Johannes Braun, a retired couple living in the south of Germany. With various of our 8 children, we have had an interesting life so far, living in different countries of the world, making a safari from England to Kenya in an old Landrover, working for 10 years in Africa, and participating in many sports including rock climbing, mountaineering and hang gliding.

Boating is something quite new for us but the dream of travelling the whole length of the Danube has been with us for a long time. With this blog we hope to keep you posted on our progress, the interesting people we meet and places we've seen, and also fill you in on the background to the trip, learning how to go on the river and how to renovate a boat. Maybe it will even be helpful for you if you're contemplating such a trip yourself!

Originally planned as a two year trip, with the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus, we may be looking at three years now! In any case, we hope to keep the articles coming, so dip into the blog from time to time and see what's new!
